Terms of Service

Rubric is built and sold by Chris McCarron, trading as GoGoChimp (“we”, “us”). By creating an account or running an audit you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use Rubric.

What Rubric does

Rubric crawls a website you choose and scores how citable it is to AI search engines, then gives you a ranked list of fixes. The score is a deterministic rules engine. Some advisory panels use a private local model (see the privacy policy). Rubric is guidance, not a guarantee: AI engines decide for themselves what to cite and change often, so we cannot promise any particular ranking, citation, or traffic result.

Your account

You are responsible for what happens under your account and for keeping your password safe. You can start a quick audit without an account; registering saves your reports and unlocks the full crawl. Keep your email address current so we can send you reports and receipts.

Acceptable use

Only audit sites you own or have permission to audit. Do not use Rubric to attack, overload or probe systems you do not control, to point it at private or internal hosts, to break any law, or to resell or scrape the service itself. We apply rate limits and a per-crawl page cap to protect the shared crawler, and we may suspend an account that abuses them.

Free and Pro

The Free plan stays free, and Pro only ever adds capabilities. Rubric Pro is an annual subscription billed in US dollars through Stripe. It renews automatically each year until you cancel; a founding rate, once locked, stays yours for as long as you keep Pro. You can cancel any time from Account → Billing and keep Pro until the end of the year you have paid for. Refunds are covered by our refund policy (14 days, no questions).

Availability

We run the crawler on our own hardware and do our best to keep Rubric available, but we do not promise uninterrupted service and there is no uptime guarantee on the Free or Pro plans. A crawl of a large or heavily-protected site may return a partial report or fail; we will tell you when that happens.

Your content and ours

You keep all rights to your websites and to the reports Rubric produces for you. By submitting a URL you give us permission to crawl it and to store the resulting report for you. Rubric itself, including the score engine, the checks and the site, remains ours.

Liability

Rubric is provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months before it arose, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for lost profit, revenue or data. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited by law, including your statutory rights as a consumer.

Changes and termination

We may update Rubric and these terms; if a change is material we will say so. You can delete your account any time from Account → Profile, which removes your data. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of Scotland, and any dispute is subject to the courts of Scotland. This does not affect statutory rights you have where you live.
